Abstract

It has become the duty of media institutions to play the primary role in reforming society, especially the youth class educate them to stay away from the phenomenon of drug abuse which threatens the entire Iraqi youth without exception. This was confirmed by the relevant institutions, including the ministry of interior, health and education, which confirms the rate of drug abuse has reached catastrophic levels. This is what prompted the media to pay attention to this phenomenon and take its role in addressing it and making it one of the priorities of its strategic plans. In this research, we will address the role of the media in combating the phenomenon of drugs among the youth of Iraq. In addition to identifying the causes of spread, abuse,  methods of treatment and prevention of this phenomenon, and how to help young people to reform their behavior to be active in society.
