Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to assess the extent to which science teachers in morning primary schools in Baqubah District apply twenty-first-century skills. The researchers employed a descriptive research design and developed a questionnaire for this purpose after establishing its validity and reliability. The study sample consisted of 20 male and female teachers who were selected randomly. The findings revealed a low level of science teachers’ application of twenty-first-century skills, both on the questionnaire as a whole and across most of its domains. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of science teachers’ application of twenty-first-century skills according to the variables of academic qualification, professional rank, and years of teaching experience. The researchers recommended enhancing the level of teachers’ application of twenty-first-century skills and considering the level of their practice of these skills as a criterion for the annual evaluation of science teachers.
